Many times the justice system is not fair. There are day to day examples that show the people that the justice system picks and chooses who to prosecute. The justice system is supposed to be blind, but it is not blind. Money and color determines justice.
Kwame Kilpatrick the ex-mayor of Detroit is an example of how our justice system works. He was a mayor who stole lots of money from the city, just as many other mayors. He had power to spend money and spent 2.5 million of the civic fund on personal use. He only got under two years in jail and many not even serve that long. If it was an ordinary person like you or me, we would have gotten many more years. Also if he was a white man, would it have even gotten prosecuted in the first place.
Lindsay Lohan is another example of our justice system letting us down. She was charged with drinking and driving and possession of cocaine. She was only put on probation and she later violated her probation of not going to rehab and only got 90 days in jail. I just read in the news that she will only end up doing a couple weeks. Its not fair that a celebrity with money gets off so easily. She should have gotten just deserts and spend her whole 90-days in jail.
Another example was a president in my country in 2000 and named Ipolito Mejia, there was much corruption in his term. He lowered the value of our money, and destroyed our economy. He stole so much money from us and he never got prosecuted because of lack of evidence. He is now running for president this term.
In conclusion the justice system is not fair or blind. Prosecutions are based on money and color. Money rules the world, if you have money and commit a crime you will only pay a fine and not get what you deserve. The poor minorities worldwide have to suffer prosecution and no mercy.
Hi Juan,
