The letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

Sensationalist reporting is harmful to all people involved and has no place in our society.
On July 27,1996 our lives changed forever. My sons life will never be the same. This journal blamed my son of being a terrorist. My son was simply working as a security guard at the Centennial Olympic park on that day. My son risked his life helping injured people to safety. What you wrote about my son ruined his reputation. I am angry that my son was named a suspect instead of a hero.Your article in the Atlanta Journal violated our right to privacy and now we have no privacy. We are the 122th victims of that attack.
As a result of the madia's tolerance for irresponsible reporting, my family and I are a few more victims of sensationalism at its worst. On behalf of all victims of sensationalism, we demand a formal apology.

  1. A very good letter that clearly states your position about sensationalism in the media but you needed to use other examples from our reading to support your point. Otherwise, a very good effort! 8/10
